The PLA Anti-buckling Brace, where we have developed a CAD model of a coke can brace designed to resist buckling under a compressive load. This innovative project showcases my dedication to creating effective solutions for structural support and resistance against buckling.
However, as you might have guessed, the brace proved to be ineffective. Its failure stemmed not from its design, but rather from the material chosen, namely PLA. Regrettably, PLA possesses inherent brittleness and low impact strength, leading to the brace snapping at its corners under relatively low compressive stress.
